The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians abroad expresses its firmest conviction to the terrorist attack which took place in Pahalgam, India, and which caused death and injuries among innocent civilians.

By reaffirming the principal and constant position of Tunisia, which rejects all forms of terrorism, the ministry presents its sincere condolences and support for the government and the Indian people, as well as to the families of the victims. He also expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery to the wounded.

Tunisia calls on India and Pakistan to show restraint, to resolve their disputes through peaceful means and by dialogue, in compliance with the sovereignty and security of the two countries, and to strengthen peace and security.

This attack occurs in a tense regional climate, marked by an increase in violence and a rise in tensions between India and Pakistan, two rival nuclear powers.

The two countries, which have been disputed in particular by the Kashmir region for decades, regularly experience flambés of violence, fueled by mutual accusations of interference and support for terrorism.
