The accusation chamber specializing in terrorism affairs at the Tunis court of appeal decided to send Ahmed Souab, lawyer and former magistrate, before the criminal chamber specializing in terrorism, while confirming the maintenance of its deposit warrant.
Incarcerated since the end of April 2025, Ahmed Souab has been prosecuted within the framework of a terrorist case, following a decision of the investigating judge of the anti -terrorist judicial center. The referral to the judgment court comes almost three months after his arrest.
The case concerns public declarations of the lawyer concerning the judicial treatment of the file known as the “conspiracy against the security of the State 1”, a highly publicized case involving several political and civil figures.
Former administrative magistrate, Ahmed Souab is known for his public positions torn on institutional and judicial issues.
