In June France will recognize the Palestinian state. It is in this context that the French ambassador in Tunisia wanted to provide several clarifications concerning the position of France in relation to the Palestino-Israeli conflict and on what is happening in Gaza in terms of genocide with one more than 52,000 Palestinian killed.

Guest Monday, May 5, 2025 in the Morning Show show on Radio IFM to talk about France, war in Gaza and the process of recognizing a Palestinian State, the French ambassador to Tunisia, Anne Guéguen, formally denied any involvement of her country in the supply of weapons used by Israel in the Gaza Strip.

“There is no weapon used in Gaza from France,” she said, adding that 99% of arms exports to Israel come from three countries, mainly the United States (Germany and Italy).

She said that military contracts between France and Israel represent only 0.2% of French armaments exports, and that they exclusively concern ** equipment for defensive use or intended for re -export.

On another level, she affirmed that Israeli colonization represents a central issue in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In this context, it has warned against the acceleration of locations, which leads to the fragmentation of the Palestinian territories and the isolation of their population, seriously compromising the implementation of the two -state solution and any prospect of lasting peace.

She recalled that France’s position in favor of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, with Al Quds occupied for common capital, has been constant for several decades.

In addition, the ambassador indicated that France has imposed individual sanctions against Israeli settlers responsible for violence against Palestinian civilians.

Guéguen has also indicated that France is continuing its efforts to relaunch the political process and obtain an immediate cease-fire in Gaza.

It stressed the importance of allowing the entry of humanitarian aid without delay to the Gaza Strip, without any obstacle. She also denounced the forced trips of the Palestinian population, which she described as a serious and obvious violation of international humanitarian law.

In the same context, the ambassador announced that France is working in collaboration with Saudi Arabia within the United Nations for the organization of a large international conference on Gaza, scheduled for next June in New York.
