The Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) sets up new measures to facilitate the connection of photovoltaic power plants. This initiative aims to simplify procedures, shorten deadlines and encourage the use of renewable energies.
Before the reforms, the procedures for connecting the STEG photovoltaic installations were deemed heavy and slow. Deadlines could reach 90 days for small low -voltage installations, and up to one year for medium voltage connections
Only one contact per region
Each regional management of STEG now appoints a single interlocutor. This contact follows the back -to -end folder and responds directly to the installers. This method saves time and avoid confusion.
More easily accessible customer data
The installers can request electricity consumption data via an e-mail address provided by each regional management. This approach strengthens transparency and accelerates the preparation of projects.

Faster technical authorizations
The STEG undertakes to process requests within clear deadlines:
- For installations of 20 kVA or less, it gives an answer within 15 working days. Unanswered, the agreement is considered to be acquired.
- For projects beyond 20 kVA:
- If the file includes a technical report validated by an approved control office, the STEG only checks the alternating current part within 30 days.
- If this report is missing, it performs a complete verification within a maximum of 60 days.
Regular technical exchanges
Technical meetings between the STEG teams and the installers will take place regularly. They aim to solve problems faster and reduce treatment deadlines.
Installation of the counter in less than 30 days
The installers can pay the counter as soon as the request for commissioning is filled. The STEG undertakes to install it within 30 working days, regardless of the progress of the site.
