As of July 17, 2025, Tunisia collected more than 11.2 million quintals in cereals, a volume greater than the average of the last five campaigns on the same date, according to figures from the cereal office.
More than 11 million quintals collected
Tunisian collection centers received 11.290 million quintals in cereals on July 17, 2025, according to data published by the Cereal Office. This level has exceeded the average of the last five years for the same period, confirming a promising 2025 campaign.
A majority intended for consumption
The distribution of cereals collected is as follows:
- 94.1% (or 10.627 million quintals) are intended for consumption,
- 5.9% (0.663 million quintals) concern selected seeds.
Among consumption cereals:
- 7.117 million quintals of durum wheat,
- 0.548 million tender wheat,
- 2.920 million barley,
- 0.043 million triticale
As for selected seeds:
- 0.582 million quintals of durum wheat,
- 0.061 million tender wheat,
- 0.019 million barley,
- 0.001 million triticale
Béja, Bizerte and Siliana in mind
On the regional level, the distribution of collections shows a high concentration in the governorates of the North West:
- Béja: 2.679 million quintals (23.73%),
- Bizerte: 1.661 million (14.71%),
- Siliana: 1.491 million (13.20%),
- KEF: 1.324 million (11.73%),
- Jendouba: 1.233 million (10.92%),
- Zaghouan: 749 thousand (6.64%),
- Kairouan: 721 thousand (6.38%).
The other regional contributions include: Manouba (626 thousand), Nabeul (224 thousand), Kasserine (186 thousand), Ariana (142 thousand), Sidi Bouzid (138 thousand), Gafsa (92 thousand), Sousse (22 thousand) and Mahdia (2 thousand).
