In an unexpected approach, the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, made an unexpected visit at midnight in the governorate of Monastir, on the night of Wednesday July 9 to Thursday July 10, 2025. This night visit aimed to inquire about the alarming environmental situation in the Gulf of Monastir, recently struck by an ecological catastrophe.
The head of state went to the beach of Ksibet El Mediouni, strongly impacted by this environmental degradation. On the spot, he exchanged with visibly affected inhabitants, who expressed their anger and concern about an untenable situation.
Continuing his tour, Kaïs Saïed visited the treatment plant of Sayada-Lamta-Bouhjar, located in the city of Lamta, then headed for the locality of Sayada, also concerned by the pollution of the coast.
