Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, said: “The price distribution model for the Club World Cup represents the largest financial endowment ever allocated for a football tournament in seven games, including a group phase and a direct elimination system, with a potential reward of up to $ 125 million for the winner. »»
He added: “In addition to financial prices for the participating teams, an unprecedented solidarity investment program provides for the granting of an additional $ 250 million to support club football worldwide. »»
“This solidarity will considerably strengthen our continuous efforts to make football a real world sport,” he continued.
He concluded: “FIFA will not keep any income from this tournament. All revenues will be redistributed to clubs, and FIFA reserves intended for the development of world football through its 211 member associations will remain intact. »»
The press release specifies that the total amount of financial awards amounts to a billion dollars, divided into 475 million depending on sports and 525 million assigned only for participation.
Sports performance bonuses will be identical for all confederations. Thus, a group victory will report $ 2 million (approximately 6 million Tunisian dinars), while a draw will be rewarded by a million dollars (almost 3 million Tunisian dinars).
The teams reaching the knockout stages will receive $ 7.5 million (around 23 million Tunisian dinars), while a quarter -final will be rewarded
The semi-finalists will receive $ 21 million, while the finalist will pocket 30 million and the winner 40 million.
Regarding the participation premiums ($ 525 million in total), these will be distributed differently depending on the confederations.
• Each European club will receive between 12.81 and 38.19 million dollars, depending on a classification based on sporting and commercial criteria.
• South American clubs will receive $ 15.21 million each.
• Representatives of Concacaf (North America, Central and Caribbean), Asia and Africa will each receive $ 9.55 million (about 30 million Tunisian dinars).
• The club representing Oceania will receive $ 3.58 million.
Thus, the sporting hope of Tunis is already guaranteed to pocket $ 9.55 million (nearly 30 million Tunisian dinars) for its participation in the World Cup. This amount could further increase according to its performance in the group phase and during the following rounds.
