A strategic agreement was signed between Tunisian and French groups in the aeronautical industry, on the sidelines of the Bourget Fair, in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation in this key sector.
Tunisia and France have crossed a new course in their industrial cooperation. The group of aeronautical and space Tunisian industries (Gitas) and its French counterpart, the group of French aeronautical and space industries (GIFAS), have signed a strategic understanding memorandum aimed at accelerating the development of the aeronautical logistics chain between the two countries, reports the TAP agency.
The announcement was made Tuesday by the Tuniso-Française Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCITF). The signing of this agreement took place in Paris, as part of the International Aeronautical and Space Salon “Le Bourget”, organized from June 16 to 22, 2025.
This partnership revolves around several structuring axes. It provides in particular for the deployment of the “Aero Excellence” program, intended to strengthen industrial skills and performance, as well as the implementation of the “Air Cyber” program to improve cybersecurity within the value chains of the sector.
An important component of the agreement also concerns the development of vocational and university training, in response to increasing demand in skilled labor.
According to the CCITF, this agreement is part of an industrial dynamic marked by a strong French presence in Tunisia. France is indeed the first aeronautical investor in the country, with expanding companies, ready to support the rise in cadence of the major orders.
