The governorate of Tunis launched, this Tuesday, an ultimatum to informal merchants who obtained authorization to practice in arranged spaces.
Governor Kamel Boukhris called on the concerned to join the sites which were allocated to them, as part of a street trade reorganization operation.
This approach is an extension of the decisions taken by the Commission set up within the Bab Bhar delegation, in order to integrate the sellers formerly installed anarchically on the public highway in a legal framework.
The merchants concerned must now settle in one of the following locations: the Souk Moncef Bey, the central market, Sidi El Béchir, rue Al Jazira, rue Mongi Slim.
The governor set the deadline for this decision on June 25, 2025 to comply with this decision. After this period, the authorizations issued will be canceled and any refusal to integrate the designated places will be considered as a final abandonment.
