A promotion point for the direct sale of olive oil, from producer to consumer, has been installed since yesterday Thursday, December 19, on the central market of the city of Tozeur.
This initiative is organized in coordination between regional police stations in the agricultural development of the Governorates of Tozeur and Gafsa, as well as the Regional Union of Agriculture and Fisheries in the two regions.
This platform offers quantities of olive oil provided by farmers and owners of mills in the Gafsa region.
Imed Zaghdoudi, head of the plant production service at the Regional Agricultural Development Commission, told the Tunis Africa Press agency (TAP) that these promotional days are an opportunity to make more aware of the importance of consuming Tunisian olive oil, especially since the available product is high quality. He also pointed out that prices are available, not exceeding 12 dinars per liter.
The promotion platform also allowed visitors to taste olive oil, an initiative that met with great success and was welcomed. The participating farmers expressed their desire to provide additional quantities of oil if the demand of the inhabitants of Tozeur were to increase.
