The deputy in the Assembly of People’s Representatives, Fatma MSEDDI, revealed that she has filed a criminal complaint concerning credits granted by the Tunisian Bank Society (STB) without guarantees since December 2024.

These credits relate to 149 files, but the case remains at downturn so far. She was surprised by the lack of decision in these files even though the state works to recover the funded funds and to better control her resources.

In a declaration to the TAP agency, a few hours after the postponement of the plenary session devoted to the end of the state budget for the year 2021, MSEDDI indicated that, according to a report from the Court of Auditors, the amounts in question exceed 1.3 billion dinars. She considered that processing and closing these files could help further strengthen state finances.

She stressed that Tunisia faces many challenges, in particular control of public finances, the success of the tax reconciliation mechanism and the recovery of diverted funds, both inside and abroad.

The deputy also noted that then that the finance laws are trying to consolidate the social role of the State, tax revenues experienced a record increase: they increased by 9.7 %, reaching 41.7 billion dinars, more than half of the national budget.
