Tunisia is preparing to welcome its first international rap festival, an unprecedented initiative that will start in Monastir from August 17 to 27, 2025, before opening up, in the next editions, to other regions of the country.

Called “International Tunisia Rap Tour Festival”, this event is part of a desire for cultural decentralization and valuation of young talents.

The Minister of Cultural Affairs, Amel Srarfi, yesterday chaired a working meeting devoted to the organization of this first edition, in the presence of the members of the artistic committee and executives of the ministry. The discussions focused on the logistics, financial, technical and artistic aspects of the festival.

Speaking on this occasion, the minister said that her department is open to all musical forms, including rap, which she considers a full -fledged component of the Tunisian artistic landscape. “Each musical genre has its place and its role,” she said, emphasizing the importance of reflecting the country’s cultural diversity through public policies.

For their part, the members of the artistic committee expressed their desire to make this new musical meeting a free expression platform for young Tunisian and international artists. The festival aims to promote exchanges between creators and a large and diverse audience.

The detailed programming, including the list of invited Tunisian and foreign artists, will be unveiled at a press conference scheduled in the coming days.
