Jendouba: bet on state goods to revive development and investment

The Minister of State and Land Affairs, Wajdi Hedhili, made a working visit to the Jenndouba governorate on Friday January 10, 2025. Accompanied by several senior executives from his ministry, this visit was to assess the land situation in the region and to unlock essential projects for local development.

Unlock blocked projects

During a working meeting organized at the headquarters of the governorate, in the presence of Governor Hichem Hassoumi, as well as regional and local executives, the minister announced concrete measures to energize the region. Among these, the handing over to lifted citizens on state land allowing them to exploit them, after having regulated their administrative and legal situation. This initiative aims to regularize land situations and encourage optimal use of available land.

In addition, assigning decrees of state land have been given to several ministries, including those in the interior, cultural affairs, family, women, childhood and the elderly, social affairs and health. These land will be used for projects scheduled in the delegations of Fernana, Jendouba Sud, Balta-Bouaouane and Aïn Draham. According to Mr. Hedhili, these assignments constitute a key lever to accelerate local development and improve the living conditions of citizens.

Focus on the social housing program

The Minister confirmed the mobilization of state land for the construction of 87 social housing units within the framework of the national social housing program. This initiative responds to the State’s commitment to provide decent housing to low -income categories, while strengthening the urban fabric of the regions concerned.

In addition, other major public projects will be born through the assignment of state land. Among them, the development of an industrial zone in Ben Bechir on an area of ​​12 hectares and another industrial area of ​​120 hectares in Bou Salem. These infrastructures aim to attract investments and create job opportunities in the region.

During his visit, Mr. Wajdi Hedhili went to the ERTIYAH 2 industrial zone to follow the evolution of the extension work of an automotive component manufacturing unit. This project, led by the Japanese company “Bordnetze Tunisia”, extends over 10 hectares and represents an emblematic example of Jendouba’s potential as an investment destination.
