On the occasion of International Day against Abuse and Drug Traffic, an important step has just been taken to improve the care of people in addiction in Tunisia.
The Amal Center for Listening, Prevention and Treatment of Addictions, located in the Djebel Oust health complex, should soon benefit from concrete support from the region’s industrialists.
Indeed, a partnership agreement will be signed in October between the Djebel Oust health complex and the maintenance and management group of the Bir Mcherga industrial zone. This partnership provides for the direct involvement of several industrial companies in the center equipment, after a rigorous evaluation of its material needs. The objective: to offer an effective, human care framework and accessible to those who fight against dependencies, in particular workers in the industrial sector.
“It is not only a question of treating, but also of warning and accompanying without stigma or repression,” said Nacer Laabidi, treasurer of the group. This project is part of a logic of public health but also of protection of human capital in companies, while the effects of addiction threaten the health of employees as much as their performance at work.
