Faced with the scarcity of water resources and climate emergency, six Arab countries unite to take up a common challenge: developing innovative water treatment technology based on artificial intelligence.

Under the aegis of the Arab Alliances initiative for research and innovation, a major scientific project was launched for a period of two years. It brings together Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, around a shared objective: optimizing water management through AI.

A project born in Tunisia

“The idea was born in Tunisia,” said Anis Laoued, project coordinator, this Friday, June 27 on National Radio. “Our ambition is to go from a research logic to a concrete application in agricultural areas. »»

A pilot unit will be created in an agricultural training center in Tunisia, where technology will be tested in the field. The AI will rationalize treatments, reduce costs and target the most effective solutions.

AI at the service of Arab water safety

In a context where water stress threatens the whole Arab world, this regional collaboration demonstrates that science and solidarity can trace the way for a more resilient future.
