The Ministry of the Interior clarified the facts surrounding an alleged robbery which occurred on Wednesday October 23, 2024, near a post office in place Bab Souika, in Tunis.
Unlike the information conveyed on social networks and in certain media, the incident does not similar to an external vol, but to a scheme orchestrated by three employees of the fundraising company, which had planned to steal a sum of 200,000 dinars which they were responsible for securing.
The city’s judicial police brigade was responsible for the investigation and conducted technical investigations at the scene of the incident, as reported by the agents of the transport company. The research revealed that the three accomplices had planned to hide the stolen money in a place located in the Khaled Ben Walid district in Douar Hicher, planning to share the loot later. They had, at the same time, tried to deceive the police by making a robbery believe.
However, the investigators managed to thwart this plan, and the suspects ended up admitting the facts in detail. Thanks to these revelations, the investigators were able to locate the place where the money was hidden and recover the entire stolen amount, without any loss.
The investigations continue in close collaboration with the prosecution, in order to take the necessary legal measures against the authors of this fraudulent operation, as well as any other person who could be involved.
