On the occasion of World Theater Day, the Théâtre de l’Opéra de Tunis, theater center and scenic arts, under the aegis of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, organizes “The night of the theater at the city”, on Thursday March 27, 2025, from 8:30 pm, at the Cité de la Culture Chedly Klibi.
This exceptional evening promises to bring together the theater professionals, enthusiasts and the general public around diversified performances, while paying tribute to the personalities who marked the history of the Tunisian theatrical scene.
Reading the international message of World Theater Day, to a series of tributes and shows, this night will celebrate living art in all its dimensions.
The program, unveiled at a press conference held yesterday, will open with a photographic exhibition, then will continue with a series of vibrant and moving shows.
Detailed program of “The night of theater in the city”
8:30 p.m. – City hall
Exhibition “Theatrical figures from 1970 to 1980”-a visual journey through the great personalities of the Tunisian theater in the 70s and 80s.
9:00 p.m. – Place des Theatres
Musical show “Tarika” by DJ Benjemy and Haythem Hadhiri – a musical performance combining tradition and modernity.
9:30 p.m. – Opera room
Tributes to Fethi Haddaoui and Amara Melliti – in memory of these essential figures of the Tunisian theater. Testimonials from artists such as Mouna Noureddine, Issa Harrath, Raouf Ben Amor, Latifa Gafsi, Bahri Rahali and Mounir Argui will punctuate this ceremony. Everything will be accompanied by a musical show by Si Lemhaf.
10:30 p.m. – Theater of regions
“El-Bakkhara” play (Toxic Paradise), directed by Sadok Trabelsi-a production of the Tunis Opera Theater which questions social and human tensions through a poignant story.
Midnight – Théâtre des Jeunes Créators
“Under pressure”, directed by Rayan Kairouani – a production of the Center for Dramatic and Scenic Arts of Kasserine who plunges the spectator into a tense and intense universe.
01h20 – Théâtre des Jeunes Créators
“Fake Silence”, directed by Meriem Ben Hassan – a production by Be Actor Studio which explores silence and its meanings in a modern world.
02:30 – Sophie Gouli cinema
“Jouha Wa Eccharq El-Hayer”, directed by Fadhel Jaibi, text and adaptation of Mohamed Raja Farhat-a production of the southern theater of Gafsa, dating from 1971, which revisits tradition and social satire through a critical look.
