As the summer season approaches, the Ministry of State and Land Affairs intends to strengthen administrative vehicle control operations in order to combat abuses and guarantee the conforming use of service cars. This is said that Minister Wajdi Hedhili said on Friday, June 27, during a dialogue session at the National Council of Regions and Districts.
The Minister stressed that his department is actively working to preserve public goods and rationalize their management. As such, the generalization of the GPS system on administrative vehicles has been initiated to optimize travel management and fuel consumption. This system is accompanied by a strengthening of the field control teams, in collaboration with the regional authorities.
Three control teams have been set up since May 2025 in the governorates of Sidi Bouzid, Kasserine and Kairouan, in application of decisions emanating from the ministry.
Between January and May 2025, no less than 288 control missions were carried out on a total of 8,410 vehicles, leading to the establishment of 187 minutes. For comparison, the year 2024 had recorded 875 control operations on 23,900 administrative vehicles, which made it possible to raise 784 offenses.
