The rich culinary traditions of Tunisia are celebrated in households through the United States thanks to the PBS popular program, Sara’s Weeknight Meals.
This half-hour rhythmic program, animated by the SARA MOULTON head, helps viewers to prepare quick and tasty meals while highlighting cultural stories behind these dishes.
As part of efforts to strengthen tourism in Tunisia and promote local businesses, USAID, through its Visit Tunisia project, facilitated the production of the program by collaborating closely with it to give life to these authentic experiences.
The show, broadcast a few days ago, explores emblematic dishes and the cultural treasures of Tunisia, from Mint tea of Sidi Bou Saïd to the spices of the Tunisian Harissa.
It puts Tunisia on the map as an essential destination for gastronomy lovers and cultural explorers, encouraging more visitors to discover Tunisian traditions and attractions through its kitchen.
In the episode, Sara won in the animated streets of Sidi Bou Saïd, guided by local culinary expert Malek Labidi.
From the tasting of the famous Bambalouni to the preparation of Shakshuka in the picturesque setting of the Dar Said garden, the episode captured the essence of Tunisian culture and the warmth of its people.
