Residents of the Raoued region, in the governorate of Ariana, cut today, Friday, February 21, 2025 on Friday, for the second consecutive time this week, the road at the Sidi Omar area, causing total traffic in the region. They justified their action by what they described as “lack of sufficient means of transport” in the area.
Residents had already closed the road to Raoued last Monday, due to the almost total absence of public transport, which led to disruption in their activities and difficulties for residents to go to their workplaces and their schools, according to their statements.
For his part, the deputy for the Assembly of People’s Representatives for the Raoued district, Aymen Boughediri, told Mosaic FM that the inhabitants of Raoued “lost patience” because of their suffering caused by the significant lack of means of transport and the disruption of their affairs, according to him.
Boughediri said that the number of buses assigned to the region is insufficient, since there are more than 250,000 inhabitants in the area.
He called on the Ministry of Transport to continue the study to connect the Municipality of Raoued to the light metro network or the fast train (RFR) as a final solution, and to provide a sufficient number of bus immediately as a temporary solution, in order to avoid current problems in the region, according to him.
