The units of the Moknine National Security Post arrested twelve people, including children and women, who planned to illegally cross the maritime borders, said the priest spokesman for Monastir and Mahdia, Farid Ben Je, in Mosaic FM.
In this case, the public prosecutor of Monastir ordered the search of two houses located on a farm in Teboulba, where the twelve people were arrested. The search also made it possible to enter 14 plastic containers filled with fuel, 21 psychotropic tablets and 5000 dinars.
After consultation with the public prosecutor, it was decided to keep the entire group in detention and also stop the organizer of the operation. Two other people are currently wanted by the police.
These arrests are part of the fight against drug crimes, human trafficking and illegal immigration by sea. Minutes have been drawn up for the constitution of a group aimed at illegally crossing the maritime borders and possession of drugs, traffic and consumption.
