The results of the victims of the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip continues to climb, according to figures communicated this Saturday by the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Since the start of the conflict on October 7, 2023, 55,297 people have been killed and 128,426 injured.
In the last 48 hours, 90 bodies have been found and 605 injured were admitted to hospital establishments in the Gaza Strip, the health authorities specify.
Since the resumption of hostilities on March 18, after a temporary Truce, Israeli attacks have left 5,014 additional dead and 16,385 injured, according to the same source. Many bodies would still remain trapped under the rubble, making the balance sheet temporary.
The aggression had been temporarily suspended by a cease-fire agreement entered into force on January 19, 2025, after more than fifteen months of war. However, this lull lasted only two months. Since the resumption of military operations, Israeli bombings and terrestrial incursions have intensified, aggravating an already dramatic humanitarian crisis.
International humanitarian organizations have been alerting the catastrophic situation for months in the Palestinian enclave: destroyed medical infrastructure, shortage of food and drinking water, massive displacements of populations.
While the international community multiplies calls to de -escalation, negotiations remain in a standstill, and the inhabitants of Gaza continue to pay a heavy price for a conflict without apparent outcome.
