Interior Minister Khaled Nouri welcomed this ministry this Friday, December 20, 2024, to his ministry, Giuseppe Perrone, Ambassador of the European Union in Tunisia, at his request.
During this meeting, the two officials discussed the solid relations of cooperation and partnership between the Ministry of the Interior and the European Union. They expressed their common desire to strengthen these links and to extend them to new areas of common interest, in order to respond to current challenges.
The discussions also focused on the progress of cooperation projects, which play a key role in strengthening the capacities of the ministry structures, in particular through training and technical support. Finally, the emphasis was placed on the need to adopt a global approach to irregular immigration.
The two parties agreed that this problem could not be resolved only by security measures, but also required a development strategy aimed at treating the deep causes of this phenomenon.
