The results of the Israeli aggression against Gaza continues to increase, reaching more than 55,000 dead, mainly women and children. On Monday, a new attack near a help distribution site left at least 40 dead. The UN denounces a militarized humanitarian system and requires an investigation.
In the Gaza Strip, the results of the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023 continues to worsen. According to Palestinian health authorities, 55,432 people were killed and more than 128,923 injured, mostly women and children. In the past 24 hours, 68 bodies and 182 injured have been identified. Many victims are still under the rubble.
While the Israeli strikes continue, at least 40 Palestinians fell martyred on Monday, including near a distribution center of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in Rafah.
According to medical sources, around twenty people were killed and 200 injured near this site supported by the United States. Panic scenes broke out while hungry civilians were trying to get food.
The new distribution system, implemented outside the UN framework, is severely criticized. Philippe Lazzarini, director of UNRWA, evokes a “fatal distribution system” and accuses the Israeli army of restricting humanitarian aid despite its abundance. Israel justifies these restrictions by the fear that Hamas diverts this aid, which the Palestinian movement denies.
The UN denounces the militarization of aid and recurring violence on desperate civilians. In Geneva, Volker Türk, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, called for an independent investigation into Israeli fire, accusing Israel of imposing “horrible and inadmissible” suffering on the Palestinians.
