In the GAFSA governorate, a control operation carried out by the National Food Safety Products (INSSPA) enabled the seizure of 3,550 kg of subsidized flour stored under conditions that do not meet the health standards in force.
According to the press release published yesterday by the body, the product seized had no indication of expiration date. In addition, traces of insects and rodents have been detected, making flour unfit for human consumption.
An administrative and judicial survey has been opened and will be sent to the competent authorities once all the regulatory procedures completed.
The INSSPA insists on the need to strictly respect the rules for the conservation of foodstuffs, in particular those benefiting from state support, and recalls that any negligence can endanger public health.
It also invites citizens to report any suspicious or poor condition via the 800 106 977 green number, made available for food prevention.

No involvement of the foolishness in the seizure of flour in Gafsa
In the article above, an error had slipped into the choice of illustration. The photo published in support of this article was wrongly associated with the Tunisian Society of Minoterie and Semoulerie (édotimis) with this case, when it is in no way concerned by the seizure operated by the National Food Safety Authority (INSSPA).
At the Évotimis, which alerted us from this error, we would like to apologize the most sincere for this confusion and the damage that this publication could generate.
