The National Institute of Meteorology (INM) announced that a partial solar eclipse will occur on Saturday March 29, 2025, corresponding to 29 Ramadan 1446 H. This astronomical phenomenon will be observable in several regions of the northern hemis, notably in North Africa, North America, Europe and North Asia.
In Tunisia, the eclipse will be barely perceptible to the naked eye. His culmination is expected at 11:58 am, marking the conjunction between the earth, the moon and the sun. This phase will also coincide with the birth of the lunar croissant announcing Eid El-Fitr.
The eclipse will start over the Atlantic Ocean, off the South American coast, before reaching its peak in northern Canada and ending in the far north of Russia. If, in Tunisia, the phenomenon will remain discreet, other regions will be entitled to a striking spectacle, with a maximum rate of solar coverage reaching 94% during the peak of the eclipse.
