The emergency department of the Kasserine Regional Hospital was the scene of a serious incident on Saturday June 29, 2025, marked by acts of violence perpetrated by members of the family of a died patient following a road accident.
According to a press release published by the Ministry of Health, the attackers attacked the medical, paramedical and worker staff in the service, and ransacked the resuscitation room, destroying its equipment and disturbing the functioning of the service in a critical moment.
The ministry firmly condemned this assault, which he considers as an attack on the dignity of health professionals, the integrity of hospitals, as well as the law of citizens to secure care.
In its press release, the ministry reaffirmed its absolute conviction of all forms of violence within health structures and has announced the strengthening of security and protection measures in all emergency services and sensitive establishments.
He also expressed his total support for medical teams, stressing the importance of their humanitarian and professional role despite daily pressures and challenges.
