Big evening of music at the Cité de la Culture and celebration of Maurice Ravel with the cello by Sébastien Hurtaud and the wand of Fadi Ben Othman.

Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the French Embassy in Tunisia, the celebration of the hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the birth of Maurice Ravel gave rise to a superb musical evening.

In front of a very numerous audience, the Tunis Symphony Orchestra, under the wand of Fadi Ben Othman, really excelled in the interpretation of compositions by Maurice Ravel and Camille Saint-Saëns.

Solist guest, Sébastien Hurtaud passing through Tunisia before going to Chile and South Korea, excelled in the full sense of the term. Accompanied by a piano and then supported by the orchestra, the French cellist gave all the measure of his talent.

During this evening, the Tunis Symphony Orchestra also interpreted the famous Ravel Boléro, winning a long standing of the public.

Note that the training led by Fadi Ben Othman was able to count on the contribution of five young and excellent French musicians from the Ostinato Orchestra in Paris.

Victor Hamain (Cor Harmonie), Pablo Jumel (Hautbois), Ana Laing (flute), Pauline Robilliard (Basson) and Achille de Villèle (Trombone) brought all their know-how and contributed to the success of this evening.

Finally, the artistic advisor Ursula Vavrik after having presented the works on the program and underlined the artistic issues of the evening, did not fail to greet the institutional synergies which allowed the organization of this exceptional evening.

Hats off to all artists, notably Sébastien Hurtaud, of which it was the first performance in Tunisia and Fadi Ben Othman who led the orchestra with presence and inspiration.
