The regional commission responsible for the organization of maritime excursions for the transport of people to the island of Galite approved today, during its meeting at the headquarters of the governorate of Bizerte, the files of two Tunisian tourist companies.
The latter, having fulfilled all the required conditions, will be responsible for the organization of maritime and recreational excursions to the island of Galite, from the Port de Plaisance de Tabarka, for the 2025 tourist season.
The members of the regional commission, under the supervision of the governor of the region, stressed the importance of scrupulously respecting the specifications governing the sector, in particular the clauses relating to maritime security for the transport of people, the protection of the environment and the preservation of the natural heritage of the island.
At the same time, all legal and security procedures will be activated, as well as real -time monitoring by the organizations concerned.
The island of Galite and the surrounding islands are located approximately 81 kilometers north of Bizerte and 60 kilometers from Tabarka, in northwestern Tunisia. The Galite, the largest of the islands in the archipelago, covers 752.3 hectares and its culminating point reaches 391 meters above sea level, offering exceptional beauty.
In addition to Galite, the archipelago includes the Galiton islands and the Fouchal, located 3 kilometers southwest of Galite, as well as dogs, three small islands located northeast of the main island.
