Tunisie - Banque mondiale : Cap sur les réformes et les investissements pour l’emploi

Tunisia strengthens its strategic partnership with the World Bank and IFC, as part of its next national development plan. At the heart of discussions: governance, social justice and job creative projects, especially in renewable energies and the food industry.

The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians abroad, Mohamed Ben Ayed, received this resident representative of the World Bank in Tunisia on Monday, June 30, 2025, Alexandre Arobbio, as well as Sarah Morsi, resident representative of the International Financial Society (IFC). A meeting which is part of a dynamic of consolidating relations with international financial institutions, at a time when Tunisia is preparing its national development plan 2026-2030.

On this occasion, the Secretary of State praised the solidity of a partnership over sixty years old between Tunisia and the World Bank. He called for the intensification of international support in the implementation of an “ambitious” reform program, based on an improvement in governance, the reduction of regional disparities and the promotion of fair social justice.

This program is directly linked to the major orientations of the future national development plan, currently being developed under a participatory and inclusive approach. The challenge is to translate these priorities into concrete shares and structuring investments, with the support of international partners.

High impact projects in strategic sectors

For their part, representatives of the World Bank and IFC reaffirmed their commitment to support Tunisia, both technical and financial. They insisted on the importance of coordination and efficiency in the implementation of current projects, in particular those carried out as part of public-private partnerships (PPP).

Sarah Morsi, of IFC, has particularly highlighted investments in promising sectors such as renewable energies and agrifood industries, recognized for their potential in the creation of sustainable jobs. It also expressed IFC’s desire to strengthen its support for projects aligned on national priorities, in a spirit of co-construction with the Tunisian authorities.
