The attack launched by Israel against Iran, last night surprised more than one including Tunisian journalist Ala Chebbi. He is currently in Iran with his wife as a tourist.
Contacted by Radio Express FM to deliver his testimony, the journalist wanted to reassure everyone. In his testimony he reveals that he is present in western Iran, quite far from the series of targeted strikes against several strategic sites in the North.
Despite this attack, life is normal where it is currently and nothing has come to disrupt the habits of the inhabitants and the few foreign tourists including Americans.
However, he expressed his wish to return to Tunisia as quickly as possible, knowing that Iranian airspace has been closed, but he hopes to return by land via Turkey. He also said he was personally contacted by the Tunisia ambassador to Iran.
Ala Chebbi will therefore have to wait for the situation to calm down to be able to hope to return to Tunisia. In this very specific context, journalist Samir Ouafi wanted to specify in a message published on Facebook on Wednesday, which he too had been invited to spend a few days in Iran but that he had chosen to decline the invitation for professional reasons.
“I had been invited to Iran by an official Iranian part, as part of a restricted Tunisian media delegation, part two days ago, to discover Iran near and for the first time. The program of the visit, scheduled for a week, was exciting and well organized, under the supervision of the Iranian state. (…).
I thank the Iranian state, its embassy and its cultural center in Tunis for this kind invitation and for their insistence in what I participate until the last moment. I apologize to them for my absence, and I hope to have a next opportunity to visit Iran and really discover its civilization ”.
