Between jazz, fusion and classic, four Austrian musical evenings are on the menu for summer festivals.

Four Austrian participations will punctuate the summer festivals and contribute to cultural exchanges between our two countries. As is a well -established tradition, Austria will be present at the El Djem International Symphonic Music Festival with classic training.

Likewise, the International Festival of Sousse and the Dougga International Festival will host Austrian musicians in jazz and fusion directories. What will be the profile of this participation which is also part of the celebration of the three hundred years of diplomatic relations between Austria and Tunisia?

The Dougga festival welcomes Austrian training on July 4, whose musical fusion is the emblem. The Afro Arabiq Walzer Archestra is indeed a musical ensemble which mixes the Wiener Walzer (Viennese waltz) with rhythms of Dakar, Tunis and Damascus. The multicultural ensemble is inspired by Arab, West African and Austrian musical traditions.

This unique fusion creates a distinctive sound which has been described as a “new creature” born in the intersideral space of musical innovation. The members interpret inflamed compositions of various artists, a group of ten musicians.
Under the wand of Harald Huber, the orchestra mixes Arab melodies, African rhythms, European sounds and jazz improvisations for a musical show without borders.

Saturday August 2, the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra will give a large classical music concert in the El Jem amphitheater. An experience not to be missed and an opening in the colors of Austria.

Saturday August 16: at the end of the International Festival of Symphonic Music of El Djem, a concert with the star violinist Yury Revich is on the program. He will present a closing concert with the Tunisian symphony orchestra and talented young Austrian musicians.

Finally, Friday, August 8, the young Jazzy Haezz trio will be at the rendezvous of the 66th edition of the Sousse International Festival. Besides, catchy rhythms and creative sounds will be on the agenda of this evening of contemporary music.
