During a meeting in Tunis with the Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, a delegation from the Chinese company Asia Potash expressed its intention to invest in Tunisia, in particular in the development of the SRA Ouertane mining site and the production of fertilizers.
The Chinese company Asia Potash International Investment (Guangzhou), specialized in potash extraction and agricultural development, expressed, Tuesday, July 1, its desire to invest in Tunisia, in particular in the fields of prospecting and mining.
Led by his vice-president Zheng Youye, the company delegation was received by the Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, at the headquarters of the ministry in Tunis.
The representatives of the company notably declared themselves willing to engage in the project to develop the SRA Ouertane phosphate mine, in the governorate of KEF, while exploring perspectives of partnership in the production of phosphate fertilizers.
According to a statement from the ministry, the Minister reaffirmed the will of the Tunisian authorities to create an attractive investment climate, by facilitating the establishment of high -added strategic projects for the national and employment economy.
This meeting is part of the second official visit to the Chinese delegation in Tunisia, a sign of growing interest in the opportunities offered by the Tunisian mining sector.
Asia Potash International Investment is an international company internationally in the exploitation of potash, an essential raw material for fertilizer production. It also aims to develop the phosphate industry and their derivatives, an area in which Tunisia has significant potential.
