London class “Palestine Action” as a terrorist group

British deputies voted in favor of the ban on Palestine Action as a terrorist organization, despite the concerns that this decision could criminalize legitimate forms of protest.

The draft decree aimed at modifying the law on terrorism of 2000 and to prohibit this group, presented by the Minister of the Interior Yvette Cooper, was adopted Wednesday in the House of Commons by 385 votes against 26.

Presenting the arguments of the government, the Minister of the Interior Dan Jarvis said: “By implementing this measure, we will bring the veil of Palestine Action to fall, we will attack its sources of funding and we will weaken its efforts to recruit and radicalize for terrorist activities. »»

It is added: “Do not make illusions. Palestine Action is not a legitimate protest group. People who demonstrate legally do not need weapons. They do not launch smoke bombs or fireworks towards innocent citizens. And they do not cause millions of books
